Can someone help me?
(1990 Honda Civic CX) My Civic won't start, Last week it was really cold, so i figured the Gas line froze, I put gasline antifreeze in it, but it still wouldn't start. I started to smell gas, so i changed the sparkplugs, assuming I flooded the car trying to start it. Still no luck. It sounds like it wants to turn over but wont.. any help guys?

RE: Can someone help me?
Several possibilities:
1. Bad starter or started celanoid. Replace. 2. or weak battery. Jumpstart or rreplace. 3. Flywheel is stuck. Try turning it with a large ratchet and socket. 4. Something stuck or cloging in your carburetor. Take the intake system apart and check for obstructions. Try some of those. and get back to us |

RE: Can someone help me?
If it's a starter, you would not hear anything besides a click when you turn the key. This could also mean that you got a bad battery, so if you try jump starting it and only hear a click, then it's a starter. This happened to me twice now, so I know for sure.

i also took it as the starter is working but the motor is not turning over on its own...does it sound like the fuel pump to anyone else?

RE: Can someone help me?
Could be ignition-related as well. Check the spark to and from the distributor.
