RE: cant pass inspection
Well, what exactly is the problem? Provide a more descriptive reason why it can't pass.

RE: cant pass inspection
The codes will suggest which sensor or system is having trouble. Usually you need to replace the apropriate sensors. The problem is very rarely the computer itself.
After repairing a problem and resetting the computer you do have to drive for a while or the computer will tell the inspector it is "not ready" and the car will not pass. However, during this recalibration driving time, the check engine light should not be on. If it is still on, the problem still exists. So don't let anyone alledgedly "fix" your car though you see the light is still on, have them tell you that it will go out by itself. |
RE: cant pass inspection
never has the check engine light come on ever. should i replace all three sensors

RE: cant pass inspection
The light should come on every time you turn the key on but don't start the engine. If not, someone has probably taken the bulb out. Having no bulb will also cause the inspection to fail.
You need to pull the codes to determine exactly what to investigate or replace. Go to an auto parts store and have the codes read. Edit: Or are you saying the only code you have is "not ready"? That should resolve itself with a few day's driving, unless the computer is not receiving backup power. There is a circuit from the battery thru a fuse to the computer to keep it's memory active while the car is off. |
RE: cant pass inspection
no codes at all the checkengine lite turns on with the key turned .so the bulb is there, can you tell me were thta fuse is or what it looks like
