Default car over heating.

How do you know it is not the thermostat? Did you change it? Is your coolant just disappearing?

You have a leaky head gasket. Its only going to get worse. You need a new headgasket. Get it fixed before you do some damage to the bottom end.

had the exact same problem. cars in the shop getting a new cylinder head. ask a local mechanic to do a block check. its a chemical check to see if theres Carbon Monoxide in yoru coolant...aka exhaust. its only about 35 bucks but it could save you money in the long run.

thanks for all the help. does anyone know anything about a blockguards? because i read that they restric coolant flow. and we all know d series need all the coolat they can get. if i drive it normal it will last forever without over heating. as soon as i start grabbin gears it starts to get hot. after it starts to get hot i put it in neutral and coast it doesnt go down. but if i hold it at like 2500 rpms in neutral it drops immediatley. it sounds to me like a coolant flow problem. but im taking out the block guard this week and while i have it off ill get the head checked
