Default Car shakes @ certain speed/rpm

My civic shakes uncontrollably at specific moments when my car is either slowing down or increasing to a certain speed, gear and RPM.

Here are some examples when the car shakes.

Car shakes when my RPM hits on or above 2k in gears. (Have to shift at 2k)

Car shakes when I let go off the gas in 4th gear, if my speed is slowing down to 30mph or below. (Solve the problem if I hit and hold the clutch when it starts to shake, or shift to neutral)

Car shakes when I'm in 5th gear, and my speed is at 50mph or higher. (Same as above)

My assumption is that the car has mechanical problems and needs adjustment. Other than that, could it be possible that the engine, tranny or clutch is going bad on me?

Thanks =]

What you are experiencing is coming from the driveline. If there are no noises that are heard in first or second gear I would lean towards an axle being your culprit. Does your car click when turning a certain direction? Are there any noises? Is it a normally occurring problem or is it intermittent?

Honestly, I would take it to a good alignment shop, ASAP. Those symptoms are not to be taken lightly.

The car runs smoothly, otherwise. Only the shaking worries me and I don't trust mechanics at the shop, seeing a couple and telling me random things and charging crazy amount. I'll find a personal mech for this from a friend.

There will always be dishonest mechanics out there. You should check around to find one that is owned by an experienced and honest person. I know of a couple of very good shops in my area and I rely on them to troubleshoot problems that I can't resolve or just don't have the time to resolve.

Don't let one bad apple destroy your view of all mechanics.

I understand, but honest mechanics are hard to find in my area.

How much do you think it would cost to replace the axle or clutch? Parts + Installation for a 2000 Civic EX. Just want to have a fair idea with what I'm dealing with.

Clutch Kits should be around $100. Same with the axle from what I believe.

axles will probably run between 180-250 labor included for each side. A clutch would probably run around 500 labor included.
