Check that the condenser fan works. If the fan quits the compressor puts an abnormal load on the engine. Also cooling performance at idle will be terrible.

Remember you have an economy car, it was Honda's least expensive model at the time. Sometimes they shake a little. If it's idling at too low an rpm you can clean the IACV and / or open the idle air screw adjustment some to get rpm up. Opening the air screw too much would make it idle too fast in neutral with no A/C.

I just replaced my motor mounts and added energy suspension poly urethane motor mount upgrades. Anyways if you motor mounts were really bad you'll notice a big difference in how stiff they are. Also since the motor is more securely attached to the frame you'll get more vibration in the car at idle. I notice if i bring the revs up to around 1k when at idle all the vibration goes away. It's a bit annoying though.

Where did you get the motor mounts - were they aftermarket? Did you replace yourself.I have a 2001 civic and mine are bad.

I found out the problem is with the motor mounts. How big of a job is it if I tried doing it myself? Any recommendation?
