Default Car won't start...

OK, so my car has been sitting for a few days, due to a flat I got the other day, had to special order tires, etc. So my dad was gonna borrow it the other night, car wouldn't start. I haven't given starting it a shot yet, but he said there is a whine when he turns the key, but the engine won't crank. Any ideas on what to check?

Nah, the battery is still good.

I actually got out and checked the wires from the distributor, and one of them isn't sparking. Guess I just need a new distributor...

Good.

For future reference, start simple before throwing expensive new parts at it in hopes the problem will disappear.

Glad you got it worked out for cheap
