changing heater core - any tips?
 
Got the dash all apart, ready to drop the steering wheel, know the dash hasta come out to get the heater core out. Any body been there? How bout if U can get coolant cleaned out of carpet soaked w/ it?

I soaked the coolant out with newspapers. LOTS of newspapers over a LONG period of time. Put newspapers between the carpet and the body. When the newspapers get soaked, replace with dry ones. Repeat over and over again for many months.

I had no problems. Iapplied the newspapers immediately and kept at it for months until the carpets were completely dried. I'm sure that helped minimize any damage.

Alright then

heater core should come in tomorrow from Auto Parts Warehouse (150$, free shipping) and I'll take pictures & make up a "how-to" (or "how-not-to") to post.
