Default Cheaper alternative to HIDs

Hi guys, I've been browsing thru the threads and all I can see is that people tend to switch to HIDs to make their lights whiter and brighter. I know they cost a lot and will need some electrical assembly too, now my question is: Is there a cheaper alternative to whiten and brighten (or blue-ized)your OEM headlights? Like just buying those xenon bulbs or super white bulbs that you see in walmart or auto supplies? Are they any good and have any one tried them? I have an 05 civic lx. and the headlight and high beam are separate bulbs. I dunno if you call em H3.

you will get whiter or bluer light but it wouldnt be brighter than oem light bulbs, they sell HID kits that are easier to install only thing you need to do is figure out where to mount the ballast and other hardwares it came with. found them on ebay , cheapest i found so far is a 130 with shipping.

Ebay Xenons and Silverstars will give you a white look, btu HIDs will give you even better color with alot better light output, and $130 is a really good deal, theyre fairly expensive

you can get a complete hid kit for like 200 bucks which is plug and play, no wiring, just unplug then plug in the hid's and you are done. just get the right bulbs for your car

you mean to say after you buy an HID kit, you still have to buy the bulbs? aren't they in 1 package? also when you mentioned just plug in, you mean plug in the whole housing? or just the reflector with the assembly?

Check this: https://www.hondacivicforum.com/m_397367/tm.htm
I just did a HID conversion. Total Cost 189 shipped from Leenix Wholesale.

The kit came with Bulbs, ballasts, wires, mounting brackets, zip ties, and instructions.

It took me about 2 hours from start to finish, mainly because I and a perfectionist.

When you purchase a HID plug n play kit, you have to select or state the bulb type you want when ordering. I just recieved a set of 9007 hid conversion bulbs from a vendor (cost me 45 bucks for just hid low-halogen high bulbs, gotta love ebay) and when I made my purchase I stated the vendor which bulb type I wanted.

Everybody has their favorite vendors they've purchased from (I've got a list...), I personally say don't spend more than 140-150. The higher cost doesn't make better equipment and having the vendor in the states is a better change of getting speedy warrenty replacements than if they're outta country (or in my case the seller is outta country but states in texas, it's been 4 months and no replacement bulbs).....

There is no cheeper alternative to HID's you can either get them an have good lighting or you can cheep out and get the "Xenon" bulbs and have white light but crappy output.

Just go with HID's
