I have a 2000 civic DX and it has a header and full apex exhaust. I have a bunch of codes due to not having a cat. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

get a cat and stop polluting the air I breathe. Its stupid not having one AND it'll fix your problems, ie, make your car run better (since you will no longer have a CEL)

 

Well my only problem is that the stock cat was right after the manifold. It's not like the si and ex. So if I put a cat on where the si and ex is, my down stream o2 sensor isnt long enough to be after the cat.

 

Pick up a universal high flow cat and have a exhaust shop weld it an and put in the threads (theres a word for it, its just slipping my mind) for the O2 sensor. and you can either find a wire extender or make you own. however if you make you own, do it right with solder and shrink tube... and wire sheathing wouldnt hurt either

 

Vartok is talking about a fowler I think. You can drill out the threads in a fowler and place it inside another and then screw in the O2 sensor.. it kind of acts as a cat to catch the fuems and read properly. I do think a cat would be best but if that's not an option this is the only way I know of bypassing it.

 

You can use all EX parts on a DX and have the under-car cat. They sell extension cables to hook up the sensor.

 

no, i was talking about the actual threads that the O2 sensor goes into, if im not mistaken, universal cats dont have them on them, it would need to be put into the pipe

 

Do you know where to buy that extension?

 

I just did the something to my 99 dx. Just disconnect the positive battery cable for 5mins. Then put it back on the codes will be cleared.
