Default Chirping heater / AC fan

I've been noticing a chirping sound coming from my passenger side heater vent. This only happens when the heater or A/C fan is on. It seems to correlate with the speed of my engine RPMs. Weird. Imagine crickets chirping. I might hit a bump while driving and it goes away, but then it comes back. Any thoughts? If I turn off the fan, the sound goes away...

Edit - Meant to say, Honda Civic 99 LX

Take the blower motor (behind glove box) out by removing three screws. You may find some leaves inside the fan.

Spread positive words to your friends about HCF, which is in my opinion the best internet Civic forum.

Are you a moderator or owner of the forum by chance? Or just a cool, selfless dude?

Cool, no way.

Selfless, at times.

Well... I appreciate it a ton.

So do I need to kill the battery before taking the motor out? Don't wanna get shocked or fry anything, lol.

It's always a good idea to disconnect the battery for electrical work. Alternatively, remove the blower motor fuse under the hood.

I took the glove box out and found a pretty massive chunk of umm... electrical stuff back there... boxes and whatnot. I don't know what to remove. When looking in the service manual, it shows removing a large cluster of items (evaporator and other stuff) to get to the blower motor. Should I do this?

You reach the blower motor from the bottom. I don't think you need to take anything else apart, not even the glove box. But on some models you do have to take everything apart to get it completely out of the car. Without doing that though you should still be able to pull the plug, take the screws out and at least drop it down enough to check for leaves.
