click click clicking

there is an annoying clicking in my 88 civic.........goes away when the signal light is activated (for both right and left, as well as the hazards).
tried replacing the fuse with another 10A from the fuse board, still clicks....
was wondering if anyone's encoutered this before....maybe i should buy a brand new fuse??? or maybe it's the flasher unit???? no clue, please help.

Does the hand switch vibrate while it is clicking? I am not sure but someone will correct me..if it is could be relay or switch in steering column gone bad and confused as it continually tries to move the hand switch to on.? Not saying it is motorized but that the switch is stuck in the middle when in the off position sending mixed signals that is why it click.? Possible electrical but not so much the fuse. Good guess though(I wouldve done it too)

I'm not sure how loud or what kind of "clicking" you mean, but are you sure it couldn't just be the gauge signal lights flashing? I know in my 88 they're louder than an Alice Cooper concert.

RE: click click clicking

the clicking is only when the signal lever is in the off position. the lever does not vibrate, nor is the sound any louder than when the signal is on.
