Clunking Noise while going over bumpy roads

Hello, I have a 2001 Civic LX Coupe with 132K. I have been having a clunking/rattling noise while going over bumps. It sounds like it's on the passenger side. Does anyone know of what it could possibly be that is causing the clunking noises? Im assuming it could be one of the three possible scenarios: ball joints, broken motor mount, or bushings. What tests are there that I can do to determine what it is?

could also be ur stabilizer links, get it up in the air and grab the links to see if u have movement, also grab the tire at the 12 and 6 oclock position and rock it for ball joint play could also be strut ,mount,or just a worn out spring.while car on ground bounce for strut and mount check.i would bet links or ball joint.

Check the compliance bushing. It has vertical bolt through it and its located toward the front and bottom of the lower control arm. Jack up the front end and remove tire to get a good look at it. I had to replace both(driver and passenger side) of them on my gf's car.

I havent had a chance to jack it up yet and check to see whats causing the noise just yet.

However, I have been noticing that whenever I turn to the left, fairly sharp turn. It makes a single pop/clunk sound. Would that help anyone to distinguish what might be wrong with my front end?

cv axle look under your car and inspect the rubber boots on the cv axles.

I bet you need to replace your CV joints

I have the same car only it is the sedan. My car has the clunking noise while going over bumps and found out it was a worn out sway bar end link on the passenger side. It is easy to check, just turn your steering wheel all the way to the left then reach behind the wheel and grab the end link with your hand and try to wiggle it. if it wiggles it should be replaced. hope that helps. good luck
