Clutch issue possibly

So most likely this is the clutch on its way out, but when im driving in say, 5th gear at 50 mph, and i mash the gas my rpms shoot up and i dont accelerate. This happens in lower gears too it just happens more easily and often in 5th. Im almost certain its the clutch and if it is, when i go to replace it, will i need to get some oil for the tranny?

I can't imagine it to be anything else but a slipping clutch under load.

Yes, you will need to replace the trans fluid. I recommend Honda MTF.

If it's a cable clutch (1991 or older model) make sure the cable isn't too tight. On hydraulic clutches (1992 or newer) make sure you can push the slave cylinder plunger back, i.e. there's not a buildup of pressure.

Those circumstances are rare though. Almost always what you are experiencing is because the clutch disk is worn out.
