Clutch shudder
Hi
I have a 1996 honda civic EX VTEC1 with 190K
Case history
4 years ago on pulling away the car shuddered and never did it again that was until last year when it started doing it on a regular bases sometimes its worse than other regardless weather the car was warm or cold. Well the CV boots ripped and my mechanic said "hey if you have it all apart why not just do the clutch as well" so thats what I did and it was fine for about a week but now the shudder is back and I'm not sure why. I have been driving stick shift of all kinds for year and I have put every single one of the 190,000 on this car so I cant imagine that my driving has gotten that sloppy, actually I know it hasnt because I have been driving my girlfriends civic and it doesnt do it.
This is what I think could be wrong -
1.The engine or transmission mounts are shot
2. My mechanic did a rubbish job of installing this clutch
3.He used cheapy parts
4.The fly wheel is warped or glazed and needs to be replaced
5.The transmission is shot (I listed this one because when my foot is off the clutch you can hear a whirring noise which a friend said was the bearing on the end of the transmission that is shot.... could this be part of the shuddering problem ???)
Ok well I have turned for you guys before and got good advice anything you can toss my way would be a help
Thanks
Simon
