just recently i noticed gunk around the transmission dipstick hole. I was wondering. should i risk reaching down there and cleaning it out or leave it as is. I'd imagine if any of it fell into the dip stick hole it could creat problems for my transmission. I also thought of leaving it there for fear of knocking some of it loose in an attempt to clean it out.

I know this sounds like a trivial concern but when it comes to the transmission you can never be too careful

 

You can always use a shop vac to pull it out. Just be careful you don't form a perfect seal and pull out transmission fluid.
