crank, no spark, no fuel, good fueses, good main relay

alright,1992 honda civic hatch, d15b8 p05 ecm. so i was working on wring a a fuel level gauge when i touched my + to my neg wire to my fuel pump. ive checked all i can think of, my fueses are all good and i got a new main relay, my wires are good, checked those, if i wire 12v to the fuel pump it runs but the car wont spark now? bad ecu? i cant even find my map sensor i dont even know if i have one to be honest? please help!!

edmaxx 06-28-2010 12:19 AM

bump..

94civichatchback 06-28-2010 12:24 AM

recheck ur fuses

edmaxx 06-28-2010 12:27 AM

ive checked every fues twice today, and looked at my wiring diagrams and checked all my fuel fuses. it seems like the ecu wont send a signal to the main relay to run the fuel pump? no signal from the wire from the ecu, but if i use a jumper wire it will run the pump. new relay too...

94civichatchback 06-28-2010 12:34 AM

there is a 30 amp fuse under the dash that runs the fuel pump and ecu

edmaxx 06-28-2010 12:36 AM

ill go check again bro, i appreciate the help by the way. ill post again in a sec

edmaxx 06-28-2010 12:40 AM

ok i had two and i checked both one was to the far right, right of 11, and one was 2 i think and their both good

94civichatchback 06-28-2010 12:45 AM

and the fuses under the hood are good??

edmaxx 06-28-2010 12:47 AM

ya i changed one just because it looked black, but it made no diff. if its a fues im not seeing it, i checked them all. could it be my ecu?

94civichatchback 06-28-2010 12:51 AM

i doubt its the ecu, usually a fuse will blow. under the dash is a 30 amp fuse that is on the side of the fuse box, that should be the ignition fuse its what sends power to the ecu and fuel pump, do you have a test light?

edmaxx 06-28-2010 12:58 AM

i have a volt meter, and when you say under the hod on the fuse box side you mean the driver side (right) looking at the front of the car?

edmaxx 06-28-2010 12:59 AM

oops sorry thought you said hood not dash, the fues looked good, can i volt it?

94civichatchback 06-28-2010 01:04 AM

fuses under the hood are on the passenger side in the black box by the batt.

test the 30 amp fuse under the dash that sits off by itself for power when the key is in the "on" position (dash lights should be on)

edmaxx 06-28-2010 01:11 AM

alright be right back

edmaxx 06-28-2010 01:18 AM

both my 30s have 12v

94civichatchback 06-28-2010 01:29 AM

does the dash lights come on when you turn key to on" position?

edmaxx 06-28-2010 01:30 AM

bump...?

edmaxx 06-28-2010 01:31 AM

ya they all come on? check engine is up too. but i removed that thirty so i lost my engine codes and cant check them

edmaxx 06-28-2010 01:50 AM

?????????????

Yeah just check everything in your dizzy..anything can go wrong in there to not have a spark. Also..do you hear the fuel pump come on the 2nd click when you turn the key?

It should be right next to your fuel filter..on the right side when you're looking at the engine..it's the little small black box(about the size of a ring box).

edmaxx 06-28-2010 01:09 PM

i dont know what a dizzy is sorry? but my map sensor is nowhere in my engine bay ive looked everywhere, im wondering if the previous owner moved it

edmaxx 06-28-2010 01:13 PM

oh, and no when i turn the key to any position it doesnt run

RonJ 06-28-2010 02:14 PM

Check hood fuse 31 and dash fuses 24 and 18.

Why have you removed any fuses?

When you turn the key to ON(II), does the CEL remain on or turn off after 2 seconds. If you truly have no MAP sensor, then a MAP sensor CEL code will be thrown.

i checked all those fueses like 5 times, their all good.

ya ive removed almost every fuse to check if their bad or not.

it remains on as long as its turned too 2nd position.

94civichatchback 06-28-2010 03:06 PM

-Pull 92-00 CEL codes;

^ click that link and follow instructions then post results

edmaxx 06-28-2010 03:09 PM

i did that and it stays solid? so im guessing im not throwing any codes? and doesnt my ecu reset when i ull the 30 fues under the hood that links the clock and ecu

94civichatchback 06-28-2010 03:16 PM

do you have anyone near by that u can use their ecu? any 92-95 civic ecu will work

RonJ 06-28-2010 03:17 PM

Did you check those three installed fuses for voltage on both test tabs?

Have you cleaned and tightened the ground wire attached to the thermostat housing?

Otherwise, you may have fried the ECU.

94civichatchback 06-28-2010 03:20 PM

edmaxx 06-28-2010 03:20 PM

i tried my local junkyards yesterday and no one has one that i know off.. im thinking ecu too, i just dont understand how it didnt blow a fues first?

and ronj i checked all taps for current, their good, and i dont think my ground is bad because the fuel pump runs if i by pass the relay using its stock ground?

edmaxx 06-28-2010 03:24 PM

ill give the ground a try, and hope for something but just ebay or something for a p05 ecu?

RonJ 06-28-2010 03:25 PM

The fuel pump will run after bypassing the main relay even if the thermostat ground is bad.

94civichatchback 06-28-2010 03:25 PM

yea you can grab one off ebay or craigslist

is your civic a cx model?

edmaxx 06-28-2010 03:27 PM

alright ill post again when i check my thermo ground, sometime later tonight
