Default cranking sound on the right wheel which goes away when brake is pressed

I hear cranking sound from the right wheel when I am driving. This happens at least 75% of the time.

The sound, however, goes away when I start putting the brakes.

Can someone please tell me what could be wrong ?

I don't know what you mean by cranking sound? If it goes away by pressing the brake pedal, you need to inspect the brake assembly and the suspension. Check for missing or torn bushing.
