D15B head gasket?

D15B head gasket?
I'm new to honda wrenching.
My neighbor gave me an '89 civic DX. It has at least a blown head gasket.
Any warnings or suggestions about this job or parts before I step in a pile of @#*&??
This car has 230K but was running ok when it gave it up. It had actually just passed DEQ emmissions testing for Oregon.
Hell I don't know..Maybe I'd be better off just getting another engine for it.
Are head gaskets a problem with this model?
