d15b2 check engine light

okay, i have 89 civic dx 5 speed, an it runs good, it just seems like it could run better, when i get on it, an go up to like 5500-6500 rpm, the check engine light comes on, then it has trouble idleing, like it idles real low, but doesnt die.. but the check engine light will go right back off an wont come on again till i get on it when i turn the car off on then back on..
any suggestions on what you think it could be?

Check the code. No tools required; the code blinks on a LED visible through a window on the ECU, which is under the carpet where the passenger's feet would be.

okay i'll try that, an let you know what its doin

You can just turn the key on (no need to start the engine) and the LED will be active. It will blink from 1 to 20 times, pause, then blink again. The number of times it blinks on between pauses is the code number. There may be more than one code number stored.

okay i reset my ECU and i've been driving for a day.. or maybe like 50 miles.. i tried to get the check engine light to come on, but it hasnt yet... and the ecu isnt blinking anymore.. but the car still feelings like its dragging when i put my foot into it.. idk, maybe thats how its spost to be.. im just not used to a 4 cyl lol.. went from a camaro to a civic

well the dualpoint on the those models really suck. if you ever switch it from dual point fuel injection to multi port fuel injection you will see a very big gain and will like it alot better.
