D16y8 on P28 ECU bogging till 2500 RPM???
Setup: d16y8 in EF hatch running OBD1 with P28 ecu, dizzy from 92-95 mpfi non-vtec
I checked timing, Hanes manual is pretty useless. I got it to line up with the mark to the right of the 3 notches. bogs till 2500, stutters taking off, high end is perfectly fine though.
inspected dizzy, seems in good shape. Any ideas???
Throwing NO codes

Does the distributor fit properly? I think you need one from a D16Z6.
Why don't you have the ignition timing set at the middle (red) mark?
Does the CEL work?
When was the last engine tune up?

Don't time to the single mark, that is TDC which makes it 10 degrees late. Time to the center of the group of 3. With the test jumper in place of course. When you start the engine with the jumper in place, the CEL should be on steady to prove that it works.
