Does a D16Y7 head fit on a D14A3 block?
Hello everyone,
I recently bought a '98 Honda Civic EJ9 with an AG LPG-system and 250k km on the clock. During the sale I already noticed it was running a bad idle (stalls when cold on petrol and LPG) and had my doubt.. so I got a sort of warranty. I had someone look at the car, he did a compression test which said that one of the cilinders is performing very poor. According to him it is a problem with the valves (because of the LPG and the mileage) and a repair needs to follow. De dealership where I bought the car has offered me to do the required work for free, if I pay for the parts. :) A friend of mine offered me a used block and recommends I use the cilinder head (after a check) to install on my current block. My question is: Can I swap the cilinder head of a D16Y7 to my D14A3 while keeping the current intake/exhaust/ecu/LPG-system? And: Is this a smart solution? Or would I be better off looking for a complete D14A3-block to swap? I'm hoping that you guys can provide me with the required knowledge! :) Thanks in advance, greetings from the Netherlands, Marco |
