door paper stuff
what purpose does the clear paper stuff inside the door serve? part of mine is torn up and falling down and it makes a sicknasty sound when my speakers are turned up loud. can i just tear it all off and throw it away?
I was thinking the same thing... my car is loud as crap on the highway, not so much since I went back to stock exhaust though... I had to put a sound system in it to hear the music over the road noise...
Nah, it's actually supposed to be a moisture barrier, in case you have a really bad rain and the drain holes in the door can't keep up i guess... so you don't get water in the car. You did know that when it rains, some of it does get inside your door, i hope. I think it's also supposed to help seal out outside air, IE: in winter you heat the car, if the plastic wasn't there the cold air would come in through the door panel, kinda the same principal as using tyvek wrap on a new house...
If you can afford it, rip it all off and throw some dynamat in there... it'll be quiet, and your speakers will sound great... that's what i'm doing after mine gets out of the body shop next month...

yeah i just took the panels off and i tore all the stuff off and threw it away. i think i am gonna replace it with some dynomat like stuff...
edit : turns out the when i turned up the speakers the drivers side vibrated because the door lock and unlock rods were vibrating up against the bare metal so i set them in the spot and no more rattle. the passenger side is missing like 4 of the little circle clips so the door panel rattles bad still. and the window cranks bolts were loose so they rattled too lol.
