driveline noise when turning

:confused:hello to all i am new to the honda crowd, just bought a 93 honda civic lx 1.5l 5 speed. i am having an issue, it almost sound exactly like a set of bad cv shafts. but when i am in the middle of a turn and press the clutch pedal down the sound goes away. i let it go while still in the turn the sound comes back. driving straight no sound at all. has any one had this issue. all your help would be great

It probably is indeed a bad CV joint. When you push the clutch in you take the strain off of the joints. Check the boots on the outer joints; it is rare to have a CV go bad without the boot failing first (letting the grease out and dirt in to ruin the joint).

i did check the boots and they look dry, not exposing the joint itself. by the way MK378 thanks for responding i felt unwelcome for a moment any other posibilities
thanks again

I agree with mk378 about the CV half shaft. Is it a popping or ticking sound through the turn? If so it's definately an indicator of a bad shaft. If it's a single pop going into or out of the turn check the boots on your inner tie rod ends. I just replaced them both for just that reason.
