Default Driver Window Problems! HELP!

'97 Civic HX, 2 door. Have replaced all rubbers, guides, "skirts" inside the door that hold the window rubber, the window guides, regulators, motors, everything.... I'm still having trouble keeping my window in the track. It falls out EVERTIME I roll it down now. VERY FRUSTRATING. need help. any suggestions? Could it be that the window itself sucks? Everything INSIDE the DOOR is brand new (the regulators are Cheap-O chinese i think, not OEM) all other parts inside the window are factory and NEW!

Thank you guys for any advice...

Have you tried much for adjusting? Most of the holes are slotted so you can position the parts before tightening the bolts. You could try moving the tracks closer together at the bottom.

I had a 98 that did that on both sides. More so on the driver though. Tokk everything out, cleaned it and all. Eventually, the driver window shattered in my hands when putting it back on track. Never got it to be fixed permanently. I just never rolled my windows past 70% down. Now I have a 99 Civic, and it is starting up on me. Making clicks and such. Good Luck with the fix!

Man, that's a very sad story.

I have tried to "adjust" it by moving the track as far in (close together) as possible. I have also ran the window all the way into the up position and then gently loosening everything to allow settling to occur incase there were extra forces being exerted. I tried to adjust the arm? on the regulator as well by tightening in both the up and down position. It seems to work a little bit better when tightened in the down position.

So far I haven't had any success as of yet. I'm going to keep trying.

I must admit that i've become adept at removing and replacing those doors. Must've done it more than 50 times now...*sigh*

I would recommend spraying the tracks with a silicone based spray lubricant. It'll coat the tracks and last for awhile. That's how I fixed mine awhile back.

That's a good idea itinerant.. regarding the silicone based spray lubricant. I'll give it a shot over the weekend if it is still light out when I get a free chance.

Yea RonJ, it shattered after taking the window out and resetting it about the 25th or 30th time. Something like that. Very sad. Kinda painful in the hands and heart. lol.
