my engine light comes on when boosting then the car doesnt idle properly up and down between 1 -1.5k any ideas guys. i have not changed anything on the car apart from adding the turbo kit.

 

Are you able to retrieve a check engine light code?

What year and model/engine type Civic do you have?

 

its a 94 civic sedan 1.6 sohc vtec D16z6 i belive

ok i will check but when i turn the car off will the ecu keep the fault code beacause when i turn it back on the l;ight goes off untill i hit boost again

 

If you have a code stored in the car's computer, turning the car off should not clear the code. Codes are cleared if you disconnect the battery or remove the 7.5 A BackUp fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box.

 

just been looking on ebay and found a OBX MAP SENSOR CHECK VALVE LINK shound one of these be fitted or car i run with out because this could be my solution.

 

did you get a tune? engine control management? anything that is REQUIRED for boosting?
