those are studs, try to unscrew them from the old tranny and put them on the new one

and who painted the tranny, it doesn't look that great, might need another couple of coats if you redid it and if you didn't i would clean it up while you got it out, use some of that paint remover and its as easy as that.

Check that the #1 valves aren't adjusted too tight. Maybe it's just that.

My greesy hands got the new tran dirty

Anyideas on the low compresion? I my be spining it the wrong way IDk but it is very easy to spin past compresion by hand..

PS the noise is only made on #1cylinder all others dont make that sound,, and i have a hard time spinning by hand with the other cylinders.

Civic engines rotate counterclockwise looking at the crank pulley, or clockwise looking at the flywheel. This is opposite of most other cars. But all 4 cylinders should be about the same. To put some numbers on the situation, you could assemble the engine to the transmission and use the starter to turn it and test with a compression gauge.

Edit: Of course, fill it with oil and put on an oil filter before doing that!

A test was done b4 it was pulled, it was very low,,, 90's i think, and the others were like 130 maybe more it was a long time ago. when oil was added it helped but not much,

Thetec that tested it said it was the rings, but the sametec snaped a valve cover bolt and gave me the car back out of timed by two teeth after a new water pumpand timing beltwas put in. the ass never put a new timing belt in, its streched and old, <--dont get me started I can wait to see him again!!!!!

This is y im takeing the time to do it my self i want it done right andthats the only way.

I put in a newtiming belttoday,

PLZ look at the video, the blow by is coming out the intake

it could be a blown head gasket or ring or a vacuum leak if one cylinder is low

RE: Engine is out need help!!!!!

it might be a bad valve... maybe bent and sticking open or cracked or busted piece or something if its leaking out the valve at all times.... just a posibility..... if you can do a leak down test... hook up a hose to the cylinder and with a gauge and valve and air fill, fill the cylinder with some where around 100PSI or more and then close the valve... and then see if the gauge PSI goes down.... if it does somethings leaking and its either a bad valve or sticking valve, or just damaged valve. if it is.... might as well pull the head and check the valves and replaced the head gasket as well....

RE: Engine is out need help!!!!!

the engine is out i have manyvacuum leaks.

Im just haveing a hard time,,, If all valves on#1 cylinder are closed andit takes next to nothing to spin it, the air is going some were right?? If it comes out the intake wont that be the intake valves? If it was the head gasket how is it coming out the intake? [Oil and coolant looked good]maybe the head cracked by the valve. But i hope not!!!

Can anyone tell mehow the blow by can make itback to the intake? the valve cover is off
