Engine Swap! D16Y8 to H22A!?!?!?
I have a 96 EX 2DR 5spd with the D16Y8 in it aith 227,900 Miles on it. I am Thinking about putting in the H22A that was in the prelude. I was wondering if anyone know if this is going to be possible with out moving mounts and to see if anyone has any tips or sugeestions.

Well my engine is acting up, and I've compared the cost to rebuild my engine to swapping it out, and It would be more cost effective to swap out, and hell while I'm at it why not opt for the bigger engine. You know what they say "theres no replacement for displacement" But with all joking put to the side, I want to have some where around 300hp on the car with out adding a turbo or messing with the internals so much. the H22A already comes stock @ 200hp, so basically All I'd have to do is Chip it, changes the heads, headers, exhaust, and intake. and some internals. I want to have an all engine beast before I even think about adding a turbo.
Header (you only have one), exhaust, intake = about a 15 whp gain at most. Getting an h22 to 300 hp (without) will require internal work such as cams, valves, springs/retainers, and probably a decent port job on the head....not to mention tuning.
Edit: Why would you waste time and money buying an intake and header when that stuff will be replaced with an Intercooler/piping and a turbo manifold? That's if you really are planning for turbo.

fyi the h22a isn't one of the best motors under boost unless you go with aftermarket sleeves.

Yeah, an H22 actually puts down around 165hp at the wheels. The 200bhp figure you hear is what the engine produces; you lose around 15% of your power through the transmission. And getting an h22 to 300whp would require internal work, like cvcrcr99 (ok, yeah... your screenname was easier to type this time lol).
Also, for the record, you're looking at $4,000 by the time a jdm H22a is in the car and running, assuming you don't already have the swap package sitting on a pallet in your garage. The swap packages usually go for around $2,250 + shipping, $400 for mounts and $450 for axles, then another ~$500-$1,000 to replace the high-wear components (ignition system, water pump, timing belt, timing belt tensioner, clutch, etc). On top of that, to get 300whp N/A, you're looking at an additional $2,000 in mods easily.
Also, like stein said, the h22 isn't the best engine to boost, thanks to its FRM sleeves. You can boost it on the stock sleeves, but I wouldn't recommend trying to push too much power. Or you can have the engine re-sleeved.
The H22 is a great motor to work with, but I'd recommend an all-out N/A build; there are better engines to boost out there.
If I had an h22 and a good budget, I'd think about Individual Throttle Bodies, a port/polished head, high-compression pistons, a nice big set of cams and an upgraded valvetrain to accompany it, a good header (I'd like to see if one of Bisimoto's F22 headers would fit on the H22), a test pipe, and a good cat-back, as well as a good tune. But that's just me

Well I'm just going off what a buddy of mine told me about the engine, I don't really know that much about Hondas I just came out of an 84 Monte carlo with the LT1 in it, I mainly know about GM engines, thats why I'm here. so what do you guys recomend as far as engine to get the most HP out of it before I put a turbo in the car???
Well as far as my budget is concerned all of my money is going in to the car, I'm selling my Monte and using that money for the civic, and as far as power and drivability I want it to be able to get me from point A to point B while still having the power to go to the track and run 13 to 12 sec. runs. I am coming off a LT1, thats the engine thats in the 96 impala ss, and I'm definitly feeling the differnce. I know that I'm not going to get that V8 power out of a 4 banger, but I was told that the B18C1 (GSR) engine would be a lot better than the H22 or even netter than the B20.????
