engine swaps for MPG

I have recently heard of people swapping '92-'95 VX engine and transmissions with the proper electronics into '88-'91 CRX Hf's and have achived 80-100 mpg. Has anyone done this or heard of this here??

Thanks.

Fred

The engine you're aiming for is the D15Z1 which will directly bolt up
That site will give you more info... Sounds like a good plan actually.

That's a great post. Thanks. I am going to look into that since my 91 4 Dr Dx needs a new engine.

I was reading more on MPG and there is a super mpg car that looks like it uses this same engine. Look up FuelVapor technologies and they are developing the Ale which gets 92 mpg. That is just a straight turbo charged gasoline engine. They say that if they do a hybrid version they should be able to achieve 400 mpg. And the car still does 0-60 in under 5 seconds and a 1/4 mile in 12.9. Going to keep my eye on this one.

What!?
That's absolutely absurd. I must do some reading on this!!!
And perhaps make a post about it.

Here is the link to their website and the specs on the car:

Let me know what you think.
