Evap purge valve connector: 4 volts?
1999 civic EX coupe
Here's the history report: -Getting code p1457: leak near evap canister. -Found the vent shut valve was bad, replaced, worked great for about 3 weeks, then p1457 again. -Retested the new vent shut valve, it was fine. -Tested the purge valve using the methods illustrated in the factory service manual, it won't open while engine is hot and rpm > 3500. Actually it won't open regardless. -Removed Purge Valve, bench tested it with a 12v battery, the valve opens! -Tested for voltage between the two pins on the connector for the purge valve, there was voltage, but only 4 volts. So now my question, is the valve supposed to open with only 4 volts, or do I have a bad ground somewhere? |
