Default Factory CD changer problem

My daughter has a 98 EX with the Factory AM/FM radio/cassette and 6 CD changer in the trunk. When she got the car everything worked. Now the CD will play only one disc or sometimes none. Is there a way to clean the cartridge? Or any other things to check? I've tried to blow out dust with no results.
Thanks, Dave

does it give you an error or anything? and can you find a bind in the cartridge or any type of obstruction that would keep it from reading any of the disk?

No error code. you can hear noise from speakers like it's trying to read disc. Got a junkyard price of $150.00 for another one. Does that sound ok?

For $150 you could replace the head unit with an aftermarket one that will play MP3 files from a CD and/or memory card.

If you want to keep everything stock, brand new changers are still available around $300.
