A basic turbo set up will get you well over 200bhp. N/A will take a little more work but it’s possible. You will need a CAI, larger throttle body, intake manifold, Stage 2, 3 cams, springs, valves and adjustable cam gears. 4-1 race header, high flow cat (or straight pipe), cat-back exhaust. Chip it or tune it to run higher compression, then upgrade the spark, ignition system, upgrade fuel rail, injectors, pump, etc. Or you could always just use nitrous oxide, but that’s not as permanent. There are a number of options, if you go with forced induction you will be up there in no time. But going N/A will take probably more time and money in the long run, but it may be worth it for you.

i dont want to spend big money getting the few extra bhp.something basic
im hoping to do.ive been looking at stainless steel four branch manifolds but would they
be any use for extra bhp? could i take out the two boxes in the exhaust
right back to the back box, would that be any use?

There is no real use in paying extra money for stainless steal. And by boxes I assume you mean the cat, resonator and muffler. I personally wouldn't take all of these out, because your car will be hella loud. Plus you loose out on torque because of the whole back pressure thing. But you can take out the cat, and run custom exhaust from there to a high flowing muffler and you should gain some extra hp.

with a skunk2 intake mani,a ported out mani, header, cold air intake and full exhaust. All those combined will get you pretty close to the 200 range. And the cost is between 700-800. unlike the turbo thats 3k depending on the turbo kit u want.

I'm thinking in the 180 hp range at the crank with those mods. A popular saying that is going around the forum is, for about the same money as a intake manifold you can get a set of performance cam shafts that will give you more hp than an intake manifold will. Just another idea though...

CTR pistons, cams, headwork and a good tune and you could get there.

ps- you know that bhp stands for "Brake Horsepower", right? Noone uses this designation anymore. Or do they in the UK?

What makes it a "Saloon" anyway? Is that like "coupe?"

Alright mate, yes this site is run from the states but dont let that put you off
Get the exhaust induction kit and mani sorted, then throw some stage 2 cams, springs and retainers in there along with a bigger t/b and the skunk2 inlet mani. should help a lot in your quest for 200 horses.
http://www.funkypower.co.uk http://www.g-motorsports.com should be able to help.
