few little problems.

So as stated in my intro, I have a 91 HB with a d15b2. I searched and searched and still need some help.

My main problem is running rich. It seems to bog a little tiny bit on takeoff and then once revved up I can smell a hint of gas. At first I thought it was the cat, had it and the whole exhaust re done and it helped ALOT, but you can still smell it once in a while. What could be the cause and how do I go about fixing it?

Next is a bit of a starting issue. When cold it will start immediately but when warm it cranks over for a few seconds before firing.

Third is idle, sometimes it pulses, sometimes when on the brakes it idles at 1k then I let off it idles at ~750 then sometimes its ~750 no matter what.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

The DPFI system is not high performance, there will inherently be some lagging, etc. Make sure the engine warms up fully and there are no ECU codes. Mine will always stumble when starting off after rolling down a long hill to a stop sign. I think this is a bug in the ECU software. It has always done it.

If it really is "running rich" (which is hard to tell from just running poorly) check the fuel pressure. Make sure the vacuum hose on the fuel pressure regulator is hooked up properly.

Idle increasing while you are stepping on the brakes would be a leak in the vacuum-operated brake booster.
