fuel gauge

mother-in-law gave me her 95 civic lx. 240k and a bad fuel gauge. reads full all the time. ohmed out the sending unit in the tank and it was good. need a new gauge? i'm a first time honda owner, no knowledge...

RE: fuel gauge

Unplug the sending unit and turn the key on, gauge should go to "E". If it doesn't check for the wire shorted to ground, and if that's OK it's going to be the gauge cluster itself.

RE: fuel gauge

Pull it out and check the wires for obvious stuff first.
