Fuse for cluster lights and rear/side light keep blowing.
Got a 92 Civic LX with 284,000 miles..no mods.
My fuse for my cluster and rear/side lights keep blowing..like as soon as I put the fuse in, and when I turn the light switch on.
But Before that...My aftermarket stereo wouldn't work except for the USB port(to charge). So I replaced the fuse in the back of my stereo and it started working...
Then I turned on the light switch and the fuse to my cluster and rear/side light blew out.
I read aftermarket stereos might have something to do with those fuses being blown...so I unplug my stereo, and put in another fuse, and as soon as I turned on the light switch the fuse blew.
There's a short somewhere in the dash I guess.
I haven't messed with anything in the desh in months.
So where is the first place I should look?
I'm asking because there's mad wires in the dash and I don't know which group of wires to check out.
Any advice will help.
Thank you!

Update:
Alright so I took out(and unplugged) the cluster, the radio, and the dimmer...and checked out the wiring as far as I could.
Turned my light switch on and the fuse blew(#19).
Then I took the covers off the plastic cover around the steering wheels and checked out the wiring to the light switch.
Looked fine...no cracks, nothing burned.
The ONLY thing left plugged into the control panel was left was the Cigarette lighter/pocket change thing.
I unplugged that, switched on the switch lights and my rear/side lights came on!
I inspected the cigarette lighter section carefully and didn't see any damaged wiring......BUT I did notice the inside of the cigarette lighter/charger was kind of rusted. So I carefully sprayed the inside of it with some brake fluid and cleaned it the best I could with a Q-Tip.
Later I plugged in each part one by one(cluster first, clock second, 4-ways third, etc) to see if anything else could have cause my lights to short out. Lights still came on after every plug-in.
I'm not sure I solved it or not...maybe it was just rust in my cig lighter..idk..I'll just have to wait and see.
