so my mom and I pull up to the gas tank cause the car is low on gas..osbviously...and its freezing here below 0 with windchill and we pull the gas button on the side of the oh so reliable[:@] Vdub beetle and it wont open so i go out latch my fingers and try to pry it open, i stopped because i didnt want to break it but what could be wrong

is it possible that its frozen shut?

Happend to me the other day. It was frozen. I had to pull on the release latch real hard. After that it wouldn't close. The next day everything was fine.
