Bob, you posted in the wrong section. Post your questions here:

Verify that you have a keyless remote control unit behind the driver's kick panel. If so, just purchase an appropriate 99-00 Honda Civic keyless remote.

DOHC Head won't mate with a SOHC bottom end, sorry bro.

Best bet is to get a bottom end to match the new head, build em both, then do a full swap!

Wink Shut alarm off??

Hey guys,
Thanks for all the awesome help on my recent woes with my Civic remote transmitter. I have since replaced
I have a question for you guys since the Honda dealer had no answer whatsoever for me.
In the event that I lose my remote transmitter how do I get into my car (HONDA CIVIC EX '97-Honda alarm system) using my key without setting off the alarm. If I try to open the car using a key after locking it using the remote transmitter, I cannot shut the alarm off even by trying to start the car.

The Honda "experts" had no clue so I thought I'd run it by you venerable Honda Gurus!

Thanks

Unless you disable the alarm, I don't think you can. That's kinda the point of having an alarm system. Best I can recommend is buying a spare transmitter, programming it, and keeping it in a safe place.

as soon as you get the door open, quickly pop the hood and disconnect the battery. this might disable the alarm, unless it has battery backup

my si had one. so i took the whole alarm system off. If disconnecting the battery works, make sure you have a anti theft code if you have the original stereo. otherwise, have fun.
