Getting A/C system up to par.
I recently replaced the evaporator core in my 94 civic si, I also noticed there was a leak on the discharge line that goes from the compressor. I looked it up on autozone.com and found two separate part numbers
Discharge line O.E.M. #80315-SR3-902 and Discharge line O.E.M. #80315-SR1-A12 there is a $60.00 price difference between them and I don't want to buy the wrong one. Hope someone can help with this Thanks http://www.autozone.com/autozone/cat...&parentId=52-0 |
I can't see them on the site but I think the difference is going to be the fitting on the compressor end, since two types of compressors were used. Identify which compressor you have (Sanden or Matsu****a) and use the hose that matches it.

Thanks, didn't know there were two.
Surprised someone didn't give me crap for worrying about the a/c when it's so cold now....lol |
It's Feb, what are you doing worrying about it now....JK
I just got and 98 Hx and the AC was not working. so I looked around, and found that the belt was not on. well it works now, but it sure seems kinda load. I'm want to recharge the sys, nut not sure what line to put it in. Theres two lines. One of them has a blue cap, and the other one is a white cap. |
Does it make noise only while the A/C is on or all the time since you put the belt back on? In the latter case take the belt off and spin the compressor and idler pulleys to see which one (or both) has the bad bearing. You can replace the compressor bearing without changing the whole compressor.
The general rule is as long as you get cold air, don't mess with the refrigerant charge. |
I don't know what the difference was on that discharge hose, but I looked it up on a OEM Honda parts site and they showed that the cheaper hose was the right one. I installed it yesterday and charged it. Was working when I went to bed, I just hope it hasn't leaked out of somewher eelse now.
