Exclamation Got some Motor issue, and a ?

Hey all, i got a 95 Civic LX and i'm pretty sure its got a 1.5 in it..It has a clicking noise that is loud when cold..like it sounds like piston slap around 2000 RPM...once the engine is warmed up the engine always has a constant ticking noise varying with whatever RPM..pretty sure its coming from the valve area. Wondering if the valves are out of adjustment? The thing uses like a quart of oil every 1000 miles or less...but the motor runs great and power is good with my pipe and cold air intake. Has 160,000 on it. Also I was wondering if i have to switch back to my stock intake for winter in minnesota? I have heard you do..but also that its fine??

Thanks abunch!

Have you located the major oil leak? Address this issue first.

I leave it parked in an area and only a few drip come from the underside..other than that nothing...if i gas it when its cold usually it blows some blue smoke out...I put some engine smoke treatment in and it hasn't moved down the dipstick quite so fast..but i wasn't expecting it to solve it anyway..I do have another motor and tranny waiting for this one to poop..but i would rather milk this one out for as long as i can before switching..lack of $$ right now. Car is still getting 35MPG average which i love!

It sounds like the engine has bad piston rings, valve seals, and/or head gasket. As you are faced with low funds, all that I can suggest is to keep the engine full of oil until you can replace or repair it.
