Default hard to pull out in first

I have no problem shifting into gear, but when I try to pull out in first it is very touchy. I have to hit the gas at the exact right time or it wants to lag. This is less noticeable in any other gear, but sometimes is slightly when getting into second or third. I haven't really noticed it in the higher gears. I'm also dealing with having my timing off by about 6 to 10 degrees too advanced right now (due to a slipped TB I guess). I'm thinking that my issues with the clutch can be solved by adjusting the pedal, but I'd like to hear others' thoughts on this (could it be due to the timing instead)? (Again, actually shifting does not give me a problem). Thanks,

Andy

Fix your timing first, that might fix your shifting problem.

I may be wrong but I think the car would be ready to take off without you hitting the gas if the timing is advanced. Your problem sounds pressure plate related. I know a guy that replaced his clutch only and reused the old pressure plate and had a similar problem.
