Hard to spin motor by hand

Default Hard to spin motor by hand

Hello all, working on a 00 Civic, been sitting a while, friend said it died,ok, right off it sounds strange cranking over, straining, checked timing belt,ok, pulled plugs,ok, put ratchet to crank bolt and had to really pull to spin motor,oil is good, radiator has coolant,what could be the resistance,thanks

So taking it apart,I can barely move the cam gear with a wrench,I figured with timing belt still on,I could load the belt each way a bit,cam bearing seizure?lost the oil pump?it just stalled,they tried to start it, cranked but no go,I figured,no fuel or spark,all fluids are clean and full, including the auto tranny, strange

Ok ,seized alternator,spins fine now, but no spark, where do I start,thanks

Default

Start with the primary ignition (12v).Then check cap and rotor, then check secondary (high v).
