harder starting with 1/3 tank of gas
2000 civic noticed has to crank more, or crank/let go re crank to start when < 1/3 tank of gas, otherwise runs fine.

yeah i gotta 98 that if it's pretty low on gas (1/4 tank or less) it's actually harder to start, may be normal...

RE: harder starting with 1/3 tank of gas
My Si used to take a lil longer to start when low also. Always started though. It helped me remeber when I needed to get gas, maybe it is designed that way.

I also have that problem. I think it's probably made to do that because I think some models of the civic didn't come with a gas gauge.

It's a tired fuel pump.

RE: harder starting with 1/3 tank of gas
I've gotten into the habit of waiting for the fuel pump to pressurize the system before cranking, esp. in the morning when it's the first time of the day. If you crank it right away, it may stumble or take a few more spins to start. Just watch for the check engine light to go out, then crank it. Only takes 2-3 seconds after you switch the key on
