Default Head gasket

Hey so i bought a Honda civic 1995 dx coupe.

when i bought it, it claimed to have a **** ton of work on it. Everything that needs to be done when you do the head gaskets. Which is a lot. well the car sat for about two years, then was driven periodically for a year. Now recently Ive had to redo everything that was previous "fixed" before. ei. the head blew. it worked for 24 ish hours and then needed to be replace once again....and now its been two-three months with the newest head. and its showing signs of it being blown again....Need thoughts on this? why would it be doing this. Is it worth fixing again. ideas please.

Head gasket blowing repeatedly (assuming it is being installed properly) usually means that the head or the block is warped. They warp from serious overheating.

Really you don't <i>have</i> to do anything other than slap in a new gasket. Now though the head and block should be checked and machined flat if necessary. Was that ever done?

Complete used DX engines, with warranty, are usually available locally not very expensive.

Yes everything was done properly. Sent
To machine shop was planned. Checked if cracked or worped. Valves were checked as well. They said it was in really good condish. Though since it's been planned three time (that's if the guy who I bought if from did that) I've had it done twice. It can't be done again.

It barley even starts today. It's shaking like a leaf. Some smoke not much. And has a very loud hissing sound.

Are you losing coolant or getting coolant into your oil? Another sure way to diagnose a blown head gasket is to start your car when is is cold, then shut it off after a few seconds. Then take off your radiator cap. If it has a significant amount of pressure blow out then head gasket is blown between coolant ports in head and cylinder wall(s). Also perform a compression test with a compression gauge. Compression should be a minimum of 135psi with a difference no greater than 28psi between the highest and lowest compression. If none of the above apply you most likely have something else wrong.

Are you reusing OEM head bolts? From my understanding, they stretch during install, preventing them from being used more than once or twice. If you are using the same head bolts, maybe that could be the culprit.

Oem head bolts are fine to reuse on these engines so long as they are stock or close to it. I read you just need to oil the threads so they torque properly.
