Default heater controls

Hey guys, new here thanks for future input.

I need some help.I just had someone I know fix the warped head on my civic. He did that great, but when he found out the reason it overheated was because the cooling fan was not coming on,he bypassed the temp sensor, and ran a wire from the fan to a relay in the fuse box that came on when the key comes on.That relay happened to be the heater relay, which seemed to control the heater controls.Well, long story short,he did not check to make sure that it could handle the current that would be pulling thru it,and now the heater controls are not working at all!!!!!NO fan,no defroster,no ac,turn the ****,nothing happening!!So,I at first, thinking it was the relay, purchased a relay,it did nothing whatsoever.everynow and then, the recirculate light will flash, and the ac lite. Any suggestions???????

Check for blown fuses in the under-hood and under-dash fuse boxes.

It may have melted down something in the fuse box. There is another relay for the radiator fan, I guess that one is bad which started this whole mess.

See if you can obtain the whole underhood fuse box with relays from a junkyard and put it in your car, take out all the jury-rigged wiring and fix it right. You do not want the fan running all the time the key is on because that will wear out the motor ($150 part).

How hard is it to change out that underhood fuse box with another one, like from a junkyard?

Hey,figured it out, wasn't anything hard. Apparently the heater controls on these cars are wired very strangely, and you have a 7.5 amp fuse on the inside fuse box,and the controls will still work sporadically. So if you have problems like this, check the 7.5 amp fuse it is number 17. Thanks everybody
