i was on my way to work this morning on the interstate and i had all loss of engine power it wouldn't accelerate past 75mph then i started loosing speed slightly i pulled over and i had smoke coming off the back of the block and it smelled like burning oil. Its not blown up. I managed to get it back home but the power was sparatic. The whole time on my way home the idle was still perfect. I waited a little while and started it up but it seemed fine but I'm not sure where to go with this problem, i haven't had a honda do anything like this before. Please help

Start by checking whether the engine is low on oil or coolant.

no its not i checked all that and my spark plugs are good and dry

You saw smoke coming from the rear of the block. I assume you mean on the firewall side. Put the front end on stands, crawl under, and determine the source of the oil leak. Inspect the oil pan, oil filter, oil pressure switch, and valve cover.

yes. i know i have an oil leak back there but I'm not sure where because threre's oil and grease from a blown axle it had awhile back. but would an oil leak cause a loss of power like that

The problem correlated with the appearance of oil smoke from the block. Therefore, you want to pinpoint the source to see how this event may have affected the engine. Is your ECU OBD0 or OBD1? Is the CEL on or is the ECU LED blinking a trouble code?

its obd1 and i just checked and i have code 43 but alldata says its for d15b8 only.
The Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) indicates Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 43: A problem in the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) circuit or a problem in the Fuel Supply System.

Code 43 also pertains to the D16Z6 engine. Start by resetting the ECU and driving the car to see if the CEL returns with code 43. If so and you still have engine performance problems, then try unplugging the O2 sensor to see if the problem is prevented. If so, replace the O2 sensor. If not, replace the fuel filter and, if the problem persists, measure the fuel pressure with and without the FPR vacuum hose disconnected. Also check whether all of the fuel injectors are clicking.

i reset the ecu and drove it and had no real issues although it did seem slightly sluggish but it has felt that way for a while. Could the oil leaking on the back of the block cause the o2 sensor to ittermintently go faulty and cause it to run like that
