Help. '97 HX tranny BANGS into gear
Check your motor mounts. You could be hearing a bang because though the transmission engages normally, the torque causes the engine to jump around and hit the metal part of a bad mount.
Sorry, it's a CVT, I thought HX ment CVT. I'll check the mounts but it acts more like the tranny doesn't engage at first then suddenly grabs. After the car is moving the tranny is fine. I read somewhere that something gets clogged and changing the fluid several times corrects it. At $9 a quart I don't want to do this unless it's going to help.
Im having CVT problems too. described it on my last post. Now im going to convert to Manual. Im afraid even buying the used one will result in the same issue again since its common with our CVT.
