So, not every time, but sometimes when I turn, something on my front end makes a nice clunk noise. It almost sounds like metal on metal. Also, sometimes when I am on the gas and let off the gas abruptly it makes the same noise. I'm thinking I may be my CV joint, but what else could it be? Or maybe a motor mount? It just started resently. Oh, I do have coilovers, but I don't think it's the spring shifting, but it could be.

 

a single clunk or continious? The motor mounts would usually make a sound on acceleration, not in turns.

Friend of mine has a grand am that does that...his is the U-Joint in the steering column. He ran up a median, and it's been messed up ever since.

 

DUDE I HAD THIS PROBLEM ON MY RSX TYPE S AND I CHANGED THE MOTOR MOUNTS AND IT WENT AWAY..FOR LIKE 2 MONTHS AND IT WONT COME BAK FROM TIME IN TIME.... MY FRIEND GOT IT ON HIS H22 LUDE BUT HIS IS REAL BAD... BUT HIS MOUNTS ARE OK..SO JUST SHARING AND WISHING U LUCK WIT DAT

 

Well, i forgot to update this, I found out it was my transmission. I'm replacing it with a B000 (96-98 EX tranny D16Y8). I'm excited!!
