Default Help Diagnose, not main relay

OK , First off, thanks in advance for any help/advice.
Now, My car died at an intersection, and would not start. I changed out the spark plugs, checked the flow of fuel ( removed the fuel line from the fuel rail, and when trying to start the car, it spews fuel) Checked the plug wires by putting one of the old plugs into each plug wire, and testing that way, all wires showed good spark through to the plug. took the main relay apart, it looks fine, but went to autozone and got a new one to test with to see, and still wont start. Anyone got any other Ideas? I am at a loss.. can not figure it out.. hoping it is just something stupid that I overlooked.

Thanks again,
Harold

maybe your injectors ain't shooting - check your fuses (often overlooked) under the bonnet and in the footwell

my guess would be that your timing belt slipped.
need to check to see if the timing is correct.

guess you are talking about the 90 honda that is shown under your post?

Thanks for the replies, yeah that is the car i am speaking of. I was thinking it jumped timing too just did not think it would do it the way it did ( I was stopped at an intersection, and my car just stopped. and would not restart.), I had it towed to my mechanic yesterday afternoon, but he left this AM for vacation for 6 days.. Thats the only bad part about independant local good mechanics.. lol they actually get to take time off etc. when they own the shop.

I feel ya here, I'm in the same boat myself right now, I've done everything short of put a grenade in the car and run. My 94 has the exact same symptoms as yours, no ignition, plenty of fuel( I think, can you smell gas when you crank the engine?). By the way, I still haven't found the problem myself, so any help for us would be appreciated.

You haven't checked fuel pressure, if the FPR had gone bad then it is possible the injectors aren't getting enough pressure to fire but i don't think that is likely. I would look at the timing belt.

I am getting spark at the plugs. I am still thinking it jumped timing. Bad tensioner perhaps? when I talked to my mechanic yesterday, he told me he has not taken the cover off yet, but he thinks it might have jumped timing, 2-3 teeth!!!! ( said he messed with the dizzy, and it got close to starting and staying running when he rotated it one direction( he did not say if it was when he advanced or retarded it) Anyhow, I should know a bit more today.

Any other Ideas?? I was thinking possibly, igniter and coil?

Thanks again,
HD

You have spark, so the ignitior, coil, wires, and the rest of the ignition system is doing its job. However, if the spark gets to the cylinders at the wrong time your car will not start. I would venture to guess that your belt did jump a few teeth, b/c i don't think its too likely taht anything in your ignition system would just stop working while you were driving it.

Ok the problem was.. The screw in the dizzy rotor, worked its way loose, the rotor slipped most of the way off of the post, and was bouncing around in the dizzy while spinning. caused the car to backfire, causing the timing belt to jump a few teeth, ( AND making a little hole in my stock muffler, a much larger hole) anyways, new cap and rotor, and reset the timing belt where it is supposed to be, and I am back in business. Thanks for all the help and suggestions.
