i own a 1998 honda civic with a minor built d16y8.. Well i i want to get a chipped ecu for 2step and have my cel a shift light. And i have a stock p28 ecu i want to chip and use in my civic. I know i need to get the obd2a to obd1 conversion harness but is that all i need? Will my car run properly with a p28 ecu without any other alternations?

yes it will.. and yes all you need is a obd2a to obd1 conversion harness.
as for the cel i suggest to leave it. there are other holes that you can use.. we have a thread about how to do it. under diy vtec light.
