Help with seized engine!

So today I bought a 2001 civic with 193k man. The guy I bought it from said he thought the clutch had been going out, saying that it seemed to not engage in gear that easy (he's words not mine). So he said while driving on the freeway, the RPM's stayed at about 3-4 but he lost power. He had the car towed to his house and it sat for 3 weeks. In the meantime, the battery died and I went to look at it. The deal was 900 and I had it towed to my mechanic to get what I thought was going to be a clutch. Ends up, the battery is now charged but the motor is seized. We tried to manually turn it, but no love. The car has full power and when we turn the key the motor just clicks. The oil looks good, no metal shavings or anything and the fluid level is fine. I can shift gears pretty easy with no issues, but that is when the car is off of course. The radiator has fluid too. I pulled the plugs and they were all dry. tried starting the car without plugs and I got the same sound. The mechanic said the motor is probably done and suggested a used replacement. In the meantime the seller dropped the price to 450, so needless to say its worth it for me to try and make it work. Good looking car, any help on what may be wrong?

If the engine is seized, just replace it. There is probably damage to the internals if it seized. Used engines are relatively cheap. Anything with lower miles than 193k is gonna be better.

Help!!

Hi

Guys,

I hope one of you will be able to help me.. I have. 2006 Honda Civic 1.8 S MT. 42k km done. We had a flood here last week and my brother was on his way to pick me up from office. Somehow the Crank case got a hole and drained all the oil. Now one connecting rod has broken and it made holes in the bore..not sure if something has happened to engine head and valves. Do you suggest to replace the existing engine and swap it with a used one or send the bore and engine head to lathe for rebore. If we rebore the engine will it affect the longevity of the engine? What are the disadvantages of engine rebore for a Honda civic?. What will be the approximate cost for repair in India??Any help will be appreciated..
