RE: Hi, and how does the honda crank sensor work? Is it missing tooth? how many teeth? b16a/b or any
There is a wheel attached to the flywheel and this wheel has a bunch of teeth on it. The Crank sensor is right next to the wheel and counts how many teeth pass the sensor is a certain amount of time. It uses this to calculate the location of the pistons to determine the ignition timing. If you were missing a tooth on the wheel, the calculations would be off and your timing would also be off.
